Attorney-at-Law construction and/or procurement law
Are you a driven Associate Lawyer with a passion for complex legal issues? We offer you the opportunity to grow into a specialist in an environment where quality, collaboration, and personal development are key.
About the Position
Due to the growth of our firm and the expansion of our practice, we are looking for an ambitious Attorney-at-Law specialising in Construction and/or Procurement Law who is eager to develop further in a challenging and stimulating environment.
From day one, you will be involved in complex—and at times high-profile—cases. Our work often involves not only legal complexity but also administrative sensitivity. You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in Construction and/or Procurement Law—two dynamic fields that are closely intertwined within our firm. You will handle proceedings before the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry (RvA), and the civil courts, as well as procurement disputes and contractual issues.
At Brackmann, we combine high-quality legal services with a personal and approachable way of working. We deliberately choose not to work with strict billing targets and place great value on a healthy work-life balance. Many of our attorneys are also active as lecturers in their field, fostering a strong foundation of knowledge sharing within the team.
As an Attorney-at-Law, you will work closely with one or more partners or senior lawyers, with ample room for personal initiative. You will act as a legal sparring partner and trusted advisor for our clients. This role offers you the chance to continually grow into a well-rounded legal professional operating at the highest level.
This position offers you the opportunity to become part of a growing and ambitious firm. We encourage both personal and professional development and invite you to actively contribute to our team—whether through mentoring junior colleagues or helping to further develop our practice.
About Brackmann
Brackmann is a leading niche law firm specializing in Procurement Law, Construction Law, and Area Development. For more than 20 years, we have combined deep expertise with a pragmatic, results-oriented, and resourceful approach. Within our specializations, we are among the market leaders.
From our office in Rotterdam, located directly opposite the Central Station on the Weena, we support large and medium-sized construction companies, government bodies, project developers, safety regions, water boards, entrepreneurs, and their advisors. With us, you have the opportunity to work in a growing organization where professional expertise and knowledge sharing are central.
Our working atmosphere is professional yet informal. We operate with short lines of communication and an open attitude. In every case, we fully commit ourselves, with attention to the commercial, administrative, and social interests of our clients.
Our team consists of eight experienced lawyers, three legal support staff, and one operational manager.
What we offer
We offer you:
- An attractive salary, depending on knowledge and experience;
- A discretionary bonus of up to one month’s salary;
- Full-time employment; part-time employment (24-32 hours) is also possible;
- 25 vacation days for full-time employment;
- First-class public transport card;
- Laptop and phone;
- Office drinks, lunches, and outings;
- Hybrid working is negotiable (minimum 3 days in the office; initially full-time in the office due to onboarding and getting to know the culture);
Profile
You are a lawyer looking to take the next step in your career. You have gained several years of experience in Construction Law and/or Procurement Law and are seeking an environment where you can further specialize and excel substantively.
You possess sharp legal insight, think strategically alongside clients, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
You show initiative, work independently where possible, and easily switch to teamwork when needed. You are ambitious, results-driven, and combine this attitude with a collegial approach and a willingness to share knowledge. At Brackmann, you have the space to develop your own style with a focus on craftsmanship.
Furthermore, you bring:
- Between 2 and 7 years of experience as a lawyer, preferably (partly) within Construction Law and/or Procurement Law or related legal fields;
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written;
- A proactive and driven attitude with the ambition to further develop yourself both substantively and professionally at the highest level;
- An interest in working within a specialized team where quality, collaboration, and personal attention are central.
If you feel attracted to this position but your profile does not fully match, please feel free to contact us — we are happy to discuss the possibilities within our growing firm.
